Exporting maps from Galaxy Editor

Post by swordsbane »

Does anyone know the difference between exporting and exporting w/ship commands?? As near as I can tell, they are identicle while playing?

And if anyone knows the answer to a few other questions it would be greatly appreciated:
1) If you create stations that are not player owned, will they automatically spawn their own freighters or do you have to provide them?
2) If you (or someone else) blows up a ship, does it respawn or do you have to provide a script to make it respawn?
3) Is there any way to make a station that does NOT start with its stocks half full? In the galaxy editor, it shows them with 0 stock when the wares/product/resource is added, but when you start, even if the station is owned by the player, stock is apparently added to the station.
4) You can add more than one product to a factory, but will it produce more than one?
5) Did anyone else notice that you can set up a gate link in any of the directions (n s e w) to link to any adjacent sector, but if the link wasn't in the origonal game, it doesn't show up on the universe map?

I'm sure I had other questions, but I can't think of them at the moment. These are the ones that stuck with me. :)

1: No, you must provide them either in x2_universe.xml or by an init script.
2: I think they respawn themselves, however I was gonna test this later as I'm unsure.
3: Yes, by use of an init script
4: No, that is why trading docks sell resources not products
5: I assume you are talking about the universe map while in game. Correct, apparently you can add this though by editing in 3dmax some large object in v or cut folder.
