Joystick/keyboard issues since steam update for AP 3.0 + Workaround.

I have a problem my game stops responding to keyboard after any undock or jump command when I touch the keys the options flip through everything but what I wasn't intending . I have verified the game cache files and no problem.
I have overwritten every save game file I have but it still occurs.

Does this mean I have to start again any help appreciated I am playing AP no scripts no mods and it was fine till the last shady business patch.

At a guess you're suffering from the problem described in this FAQ entry. If so then the timing is coincidental and nothing to do with the patch.

Thanks for the swift response I use a Logitech attack 3 joystick have done for the last two years.

I don't use the switch's and I only launch from the desktop shortcut steam placed on my desktop when I reinstalled the software in may after having to replace my computer.
I will however try your suggestion as its staring to drive me nuts.

And this started happening only after the shady business update.
At first I thought it was a minor glitch but the problem is occurring on an almost regular basis and often causes the game to crash. and I can only regain control of my keyboard using the Task manager and ending the task. When I do this I noticed that it had ap liasted as not responding as task 1 and ap running as task 2. ending either transfers control back.

In fact it started immediately after the INdustiretech corporation sold itself whilst I still had a mission to collect shares that I cannot abort but has" invalid " in its missions post im my missions listings. ??.

Pretty unlikely, otherwise everyone would be here asking about it. It sounds to me like either a corrupt game installation or a particularly weird system problem. Since I can't think of anything other than a joystick or other input device plugged into your PC that could cause this, I'm going to go for the corrupt installation as the most likely answer. Try another file verification, and try verifying X3TC as well as X3AP. Also try starting a new game, as it's possible that if the game was indeed corrupt but you somehow managed to create a savegame with it in that state, the corruption may have been saved as well.

I had the same problem with the same joystick just after the same update.
I resolved the issue this way :

1. Uninstall of the Logitech Profile Manager
2. unplug the joystick, then reboot.
3. re-plug the joystick
4. Calibration via the Windows' Panel

Before I do that I've seen the calibration was completely erroneous. I cannot understand why, but ...

Thanks for the response I foud the joystick calibration error as described obviousely the logitech calibration gets set to 100% plus sensitivity for some reason after this update cured the proble in five minutes.
