Now that Scripts and Modding are supported, I have Questions

Post by Storm_Front »

Ecosoft, can we get a few questions answered, Please.

1) If we create a new sector in the x2_universe.xml, how do we name it?

2) How do we link this new sector to the 440001 file? (ie. description)

3) can you provide us with labels for the 14th, 15th, and 16th columns of the Tbullets chart in Storm_Front's Mod Kit V.3? I suspect their related to color.

4) Labels for columns 9, 10, 11, 19, 20, and 21 in the Trockets chart as well please.

5) An explanation on how to use the modding tools written in English. If that was English, than how about a simpler form of English, my GPA is only a 3.95 (of 4.0).

I'm not asking for more documentation, just answers, I'll document them at no charge to you.
Oh; Ecosoft, sorry about that watermark deal, I thought that was a bug, I was just trying to help out.

Sector graphics are in the 3D files (cut or v folders) as VERY large sized objects or scenes. They can be created or possible edited in 3DMax. If done in another 3D program, they can be exported as either a 3ds file and imported as such into 3DMax and re exported for X2 or they can be converted into a 3DMax (max or 3ds) file for re exporting into X2 with the various converters floating about in the 3D scene. Use Google to find them (I did) or try out:

1: https://www.egosoft.com/x2/forum/viewtopic.php?t=33513 is for description, for sector name it's same link, different page number, 7 I think, and 102 instead of 103
2: save the above info in 44****, create an init.xml file, have it load up 44****
3: I'm almost positive it's Red Green Blue, try it for yourself (no I haven't tried it)
4: Dunno
5: I was gonna write a tutorial for scripting that got put on the back burner. Now that we have the mod kit It's gotten placed farther back on the burner as I'm doing a war mod, but I'll do it sometime.

edit: just so you dun get confused about sector numbers or why its not working, in the above you need to switch x and y, and add 1 to both x and y numbers. For example, sector 3, 6 which is preists pity is 1030704. adding 1 is because sectors start out at 0, 0 kingdoms edge, but why yx, no idea.
