Ask here if you experience technical problems with X³: Terran Conflict, X³: Albion Prelude or X³: Farnham's Legacy.

Cannot map the POV to strafe left/right/up/down....

Post by Bad2DBone »

Been VERY busy so only just got Albion Prelude.

With ALL the X games, so far, I mapped the POV to strafing :) Made me so much harder to hit ;) which is essential when you have a pack of Novas on your tail! (usually play just a single ship and go pirate hunting a lot).

NOW in Albion Prelude you can map lots of things, but it WILL NOT allow me to map the strafe left/right etc to the POV  really WHO CARES about looking around... It's SO MUCH more convenient to use the POV with my "flying" hand leaving my other hand to dance over the 100 other keys!

I have had to resort to mapping them to buttons on the JoyStick and these are usually mapped to things like emergency random Jump, or match speed...

This is regression... and I think it got added when yo added the "controller" game pad stuff... IT is VERY VERY odd that you specifially DON'T allow it....[/b]

Patch on Steam for all (or send em a patched exe to try?)

Thanks for the report. It has been passed on to the X3AP 3.0 devs to look at. Remember these are all volunteer X Community members and not Egosoft devs and so you may have to be patient for a while.

I found more detail
The checkbox on the launcher for joystick/paad that determines if you want to "use the POV for viewing" has to be checked.. this then allows you to re-assign the POV to Strafing...
Works just like before then.
