Ok, today I was trying to convert a mp3 file into a DAT file so that I could use it as a song when I play X-T.
I'm wondering how can I convert it to a DAT file that will work in X-T as a song?
I've seen others do it and I now want to try it *In otherwords I'm kind of bored*
Thanks

Just change the file extension from .mp3 to .dat, and rename it to correspond with the .dat file you're replacing.

Well, say you're replaceing 00031.dat (or whatever) with Song1.mp3.
You would change the name of Song1.mp3 to 00031.dat and put it in the mov folder.
Simple as that.

What do you mean? It might be helpful if you're a little more specific about what you did and what happened.

Ok, twas' a mp3 file *duh* I changed the name of it to "00014" took out that file out of my MOV file and replaced it with the one I'm trying to get in there. It didn;t work, I asked you and I did as i was told and I when into properties and re0named it "00014.dat" put it back into the MOV folder and still not working. Oh yes and for some reason it keeps wanting to open with WINAMP even though I've told it to open with somehting else *some file prosessor thing*.
I'm not sure but that COULD be the problem?

You need to go to 'view/folder options/view/' then untick "hide file extensions for known file types" - then take off the .mp3 and replace it with .dat.

that must only work for .dat files then coz if you try and turn a .mp3 into a .wav it is renderd as "crap"

As far as I'm aware, the .dat files ARE .mp3 files already. A .wav file is completely different

.dat = .mp3
No diff WHATSOEVER.
A .wav is either decompressed, uncompressed or very low-compressed.
