Project IGI 2 & X2

And Project IGI 2 has just slipped from 22nd of November to end of Feb 2003. So much for the Christmas release they promised.

That was supposed to keep me entertained until X2 came out

You ask us not to take any shots at the Sopranos (sp?) in Rusti's Star Wars Episode 2 DVD thread, then you come here and start taking the piss out of Project IGI? One of the best games of last year? (Or was it 2000 now?)

Nah, only kidding. It is a first person SAS game (Not the Split Appriciation Society, but the Speciel Air Service), but it is not really a shooter (Although there is lots of shooting involved). You have to sneak around too.

Dissapointing huh! Its the same with Black Hawk Down. But look at it this way, that means there will be three first person shooters out not far short of each other. Vietcong is being released around March too. Sheer bloody heaven.

Ive got Allied Assault working on my Lappy, (but XT wont) which is peach. good game not a patch on OFP, imo, which also works fine on my machine. For those who helped me with my probs a bit ago, i managed to get a driver update which has increased stability to about 95% now i just have to sort out the control probs with x and ill be happy, It doesnt like the touchpad and i havnt got a mouse..

anyhow, i was looking at IGI tonight in a shop, would have got it but it would be in french so may get it from Amazon. Is it similar to OFP in that its more sneaky than shooting. Thats the downside to Allied Assault (sorry should be saying Medal of Honour, its all shooting and not much sneaky..... i like sneaky hehe

IGI was ok, quite goldeneye like. Personally I'm looking foward to splinter cell which has also now been delayed to jan 31st because of the fricking X-box.

Yeah there is still shooting in IGI, but also you have to dodge security cameras, and disable them for 60 seconds etc. Pick a few locks, snipe a few heads, plant some explosives, slide down some cables to obtain entry to a compound (If you want to enter that way).

The combat is a little more "realistic" if that term can be applied to a computer game: e.g. you are not a one man killing machine like in Half Life, although you can still carry alot of weapons. HKMP5 is a superb weapon in IGI, but so is the M16 RAG launcher combo.

There aren't medkits around every corner.
