So I installed X3 TC today using Steam. When I launch the game from Steam it opens a window where I can adjust my graphics, etc. When I click the button to launch the game I see the main loading screen which just shows X3 and a globe. Right before this screen goes away the game crashes with no explanation. I get an error message that just says the game has stopped responding. I have tried running it in compatibility mode with XP Service Pack 3 and as an administrator and even reinstalling and verifying the cache with Steam but the same problem keep occuring.
EDIT: My problem was solved when I repaired my installation of Windows 7. For some reason the files were corrupt and it would now allow me to install SP 1. Thanks for the help!!

Hi. Well there are a few issues in the DxDiag. You need a few updates for a start.
Win7 x64 Service Pack 1 and then all other outstanding OS updates offered by Windows Update.
AMD Catalyst 13.4 from AMD.
RealTek HD Audio Codec driver (latest 2013 Win7 x64 version) from RealTek (You have a RealTek onboard sound chipset yet an old and default pre-Win7 Microsoft driver).
You seem to have microphone devices installed multiple times. Perhaps a clean-up of Input devices in the Sound section of Device Manager would be helpful.
I cannot see any nasty codecs, which is good.
Try the updates first and see how it goes after that.
It would also be helpful if you told us the crash error report text. An FAQ here will help to guide you.
Good luck.
