[X3:AP] Game pauses for 10 seconds + after selling large amounts on stock market.

I've googled this plenty of times and looked for a lot of different answers.

Most of them have to do with downloading a patch or some such.

I just bought the game on steam about a week ago, so I have the latest version. I verified the game cache, still pauses.

I never found that there was an actual fix for this while looking for the cause of it, so if there is that'd be great.

My game is totally vanilla.

I cannot find Mark A Condren's original comment on this type of issue (I am not on my own PC) but this refers to the type of issue a while back.
