Anyone got some basic hints on using the Galaxy Editor?

After installing the new patch I activated the Galaxy Editor, for now just to play around a bit with some simple background and nebula changing - and perhaps adding a few asteroids, stations etc. I have downloaded the modders kit, but there seems to be no official, valuable information about this editor yet.

It may very well be that I am just a bit thick headed :), but after starting a new map in the galaxy editor, I have been able to figure out very little about what I can do and what I cannot do in this editor.
I assume that a lot of the editing (if not all?) will take place on the sector map(s), and I did find some very rudimentary info on some commands on the help page (tab) for the map.
The only thing I have been able to do in the editor so far though, is change the sector background (ooh, the pretty colors :)), the sector owner and the music ID.

Would anyone a little smarter than I on this subject, care to spare a little info on how I go about adding suns and planets, nebulas and asteroids, stations, gates etc.?
Do I need scripts for these actions, or are there commands from within the editor to do those things?

I am not asking for a lenghty tutorial (although that would be nice of course ;)), just a few guidelines to get me started on these fairly simple things.
I am sure we will start seeing more info and questions on the Galaxy Editor over the next days and weeks, but I really could do with a few basic pointers before more indepth guides are worked out by the community - and eventually Egosoft :).

from space press 'enter', scroll along the top menu to debug and you'll see all the add/remove stuff for sun/nebula/planets ect..

only just fired it up myself so cant help to much :( however it dont seem to hard to use :)

Guess I was just a keypress away from the answer to my questions then :). I just took a look and there seems to be a lot to play around with.

open up an xml editor and look at this for ideas on what to change

galaxymapnotes.rtf

please note, alpha beta gamma I have listed as spin but instead it's which angle it faces
