First off, I'm not able to post in the X3AP technical support forum, even after entering my registration into my profile... clicking on new topic brings me back to the index.
I've been playing Dead is Dead mode and after several hours, had it lock up twice completely destroying my progress and wiping out the game. This lock up never happens when playing the regular game. In Dead is Dead Mode though, I've been hearing two different music tracks for a sector play simultaneously or a sector music track and then the fast music for combat at the same time. then what usually happens is soon after it completely locks up the game and I have to end task. Is this a known issue? Its really frustrating. I'd like to play but to get several hours into a game only to have it lock up is annoying. Is there any way to resolve this? Thanks

Clicking on New Topic bringing you back to the index is a known problem that you can usually fix by clearing your browser's cache--I suggest you try that. Meanwhile, I'll move this to Tech Support for further discussion. (Have you tried just saving and exiting the game when you get this double-music issue?).

This is not just an issue with Dead is Dead mode, I have encountered similar problems in regular play mode.
The double music issue is not 100% replicable though.

In a word, no. Please provide the information requested at the top of this forum so that we can see what might be going on.alterami wrote:Is this a known issue?

I have not been able to reproduce this problem after doing a reboot of the system so I'm assuming the problem resolved itself. This thread can be closed.
However I have had an unrelated system lock up where the voice audio just is stuck in a loop and the screen is frozen. It would not come back so I had to end task on it, I was fully expecting all my Dead is Dead progress to be lost the next time X3AP started but Amazingly the last save was still there.

From the things happening to you, something is not right in your game or system. I would do a Steam verify of TC and AP just in case it is a game installation issue. Post a DxDiag and any other useful info if you want us to have a look for system issues.

Re: Double Music
I have had this problem many times in Dead is Dead Mode, but not in normal Gameplay and i was thinking it was only me! I had wondered whether the problem is related to AMD Hi-Def Audio Device that is built into my HD6970 video card - Thoughts?
I have just disabled this in the Device Manager and can report back, incidentally my main Sound Card is a Creative Sound Blaster Discreet card and I have read of problems with this and windows 7 64 bit another issue perhaps? alterami do you have a Sound Blaster?
It ALWAYS leads to game Crash on my set-up, I seem to suffer with the "N-tering System" (repeating N times) Crash immediately after the double music, also I noticed occasionally that music would not change from Sector to Sector then add a second soundtrack usually the combat one.

Since neither of you have posted a DxDiag as recommended we cannot really help you much with these problems which are most probably due to some sort of driver issue.
@ andik: I would try a PM to alterami if you want to pursue this as I don't think he is watching this thread any more. Also note that alterami said a system reboot (restore?) fixed his DiD issues.
