No "Modified" Tag....

Post by Mad Hatter »

Just as a quick FYI - I installed 1.3 and loaded one of my save games, and I have no "Modified" tag like everyone is talking about.

The only script I have in that game is the old infinite loop station accountant. I had deleted the script files from the script folder. (Which obviously sill left me with the infinite loop.)

I don't have any modded files anymore, and I put the .pck files back in the types folder.

Someone may want to try experimenting with the old way of putting mods in the types folder and repacking the .txt files. And with deleting script files after they are saved into the save game to see if you can still have the mod without the Modified tag.

i just started a new game (no modified tag) and enabled the script editor and the modified tag appeared instantly. i have 0 scripts! just enabled the editor, quite annoying really.

Is it possible to close the editor?

I don't think so. Once you open it, it's yours to keep.
I suppose this is because otherwise, you could open the editor, run a script, delete the script, and then close the editor.

And this would be bad because?

I actually like the way the editor starts up!

Wouldn't be bad. Would just make it easy to defeat the modified tag. That wouldn't be bad either, IMHO, just doubt that if egosoft wanted the tag in there they'd let you get rid of it that easily.
I understand you don't have any scripts loaded, but there's no way the game can tell the difference between you and someone else that's just deleted all of their scripts after using them. For that reason, we're all tagged.
