German to English Patch

When I install the patch, I get a CRC failure on the 00144.dat file. I've DL the file a couple times to be sure that wasnt the problem.

Any thoughts or random bits of helpful advice?

My suggestion.. wait a day and try downloading it again.. the server tends to mess things up once in a great while.

Other suggestions include having someone else serve the patch..
(I would love to but I doubt that you (and myself) feel like having a speed of 3k persec.. (which is my entire upload-bandwith))

It happened to me to, just delete it and re-download it. And if it's legal I might put a working copy of it on my site..... MIGHT.....

If it wasn't a download failure it could be a sign of faulty RAM--I used to be unable to patch Morrowind because I had a faulty RAM chip which was randomly inverting odd bits here and there in memory, so obviously the CRC on the large Morrowind files wasn't coming out right...

Might also wanna try extracting it with a different utility. When i get CRC errors on files extracting using WinZIP ir WinACE, i use WinRAR (and vice versa) - usually does the trick.

Well fellow X-Fans.. When using WinRAR to test the file it calls out the 000144.dat as corrupted. I couldnt get WinZIP or WinACE to work with it unfortunately.

I'll try to DL it again hoping for a lucky break.
I was touched by the good luck fairy and this DL was not corrupted and installed just fine, thanks for the responses.. I'm off to Xtreme, XS

As to the memory possibility, good thought but I regularly work with 300MB PSP files and havent come across any corruption with them.

If only I could lip-read on the aliens.. maybe the local college has a course.
