1. After accept "Patrol Against Xenon Activity" mission, value "Missions accepted" increase by 2.
2. When mission successfully completed, value "Missions completed" increase by 1.

@ feaniris: That doesn't sound like the same problem as the OP at all, unless you mean you have both problems.
The second one (endless waves of Xenon) is because you have not killed all the Xenon from one wave before the next starts. You need to find and kill all the Xenon in-sector, even ones well off your scanner range or ones that start in-sector and pass through to go to another sector, to stop the next wave spawning. It often needs a bit of preparation of sector surveillance and gate blockading before accepting these missions rather than just trying to do it all with one Player ship. Even RRF and local NPC ships can help you. Yes, X3AP does not always play like X3TC (which can be refreshing).

I've been getting the same issue, except it's not just Xenon patrol missions, it's any patrol mission. They all count as 2 missions in the missions accepted statistic. It confused me for a while because I knew I didn't fail any missions but with each new save I'd slowly accumulate additional incomplete missions.
I too am fully updated to 2.5.2, fresh vanilla install from the steam version playing Albion Prelude. Infact, I could even add that I had this problem in 1.0, updated to 2.5 where I still had it, and still have it now in 2.5.2.
