Hi, I'm using the european version of X2... can i still access the Tships file? and if so, then how?

You need to unpack the game using x2 modder or Stone D's tool (patch 09b, or something like that). Both of these are available at
http://www.the-commander.com/ and
http://www.xscripting.com/modules.php?name=Downloads
Once the cat/dat 01,02,03 files are unpacked and combined then you can unpack the Tships.pck and other files for modding.
If you have an Excel file viewer of some sort you can use my Storm_Front's Mod Kit, (avail. at xscripting.com), to determine what many of the #'s in the files mean.
Instructions on how to use the unpackers are also available at those sites.

I've just posted a slightly reformatted version of storm's spreadsheet, which might help make it easier for you to play around 
oh - and dont forget to make a copy of the text file, and keep it in a safe place, before you start editing - makes it a lot easier to undo mistakes
