Retail X3: Gold Edition + Steam Albion Prelude????

Hello everyone,

I currently have a retail version of X3: Gold Edition and would love to download Albion Prelude from steam..Just a few questions before I purchase.

1.) Is the steam version of Albion Prelude even compatible with a retail boxed version of X3?

2.) Can I just install X3 and then download AP from steam with no issues? Or do I need to patch my X3 (version 2.5) then download AP?

It is all pretty much explained in the FAQ. The more you patch the DVD version first, the less you download from Steam. If you have any problems with doing this then post back.

Thank you for your response. I think I will just let Steam install a fresh copy of X3 with AP as I do not currently have X3 Gold Edition installed....

..Now, if only I could get off work early!
