X3AP - Aran explode to Undock at PHQ - Workaround by being OOS.

Hello All,

I am using X3AP from Steam and I manage to boad an Aran at an Unkown Sector, after I dock it at my PHQ using Dock Computer, where I was planning to repair it, I found out it always explode when I try to undock it from PHQ what makes it impossible to fix is hull. However, I can dock and undock it at a Shipyard. Isn't it a bug?

A well known big ship undocking issue with some station models.

Try this, stay on the Aran but instead of using the normal direct order to undock, go into the Aran's ship command menu and tell it to fly to, dock at, jump to, or even just idle. The AI should undock it without any collision with you hands-off and then once clear of the PHQ structure you can regain control by using any steering or speed input.

Hi Alan,

Unfortunatelly it doesn't work. I tried, not only what you suggested but all attempts failed. Here is what I tried:

- manual undock
- Autopilot fly to, dock to, etc inside Aran
- Remote Autopilot fly to dock to, etc. outside Aran

In all cases I just got a huge explosion.

In order to help I noticed that when doked to PHQ that some parts of Aran seems to be inside PHQ structure:

I also noticed that just after send the command to undock the ships disconnect from PHQ and start moving away.

Just after command to dock at shipyard (moving backward)


Then it looks like hitting something on the back and start moving in PHQ direction, what does not happens at shipyard (after disconnected the ships moves down and far away from station)

After a second or less the explosion starts just below station hook

Moving forward and then the begining of the explosion

OK then maybe the PHQ and the Aran just do not mix undocked but in close proximity IS. The AI undocking collision inhibit is just not long enough for the Aran to disentangle from the PHQ. I suggest changing ship in the PHQ and getting yourself OOS and then telling your Aran to undock and move away from the PHQ while you stay OOS - no collision detection that way.

Hi Alan,

Being OOS worked but it is rather strange to move to another sector in order to undock a ship.

Thanks for the support, now I can repair it and use it later. :)
