[Guide] Albion Prelude Plot Walkthrough.
Albion Prelude Plot Walkthrough.
Serious SPOILERS AHEAD
A few comments on the plot before we start.
It is not overly difficult, although like all Egosoft plots, what you get depends a lot on what your flying. But what your flying depends on how often you get killed, so there is a balance.
I recommend you do some money making before you start the plot, and upgrade yourself to what you consider is a decent ship. That varies for everyone depending on their combat skills, so make sure if you need shielding, you get it before starting the plot. This is a WAR after all, and you are signing up to be cannon fodder !
There is some serious money making to be made in the war sectors for those with a large cargo bay and the balls to collect containers in a war zone. Selling what is dropped by those stupid enough to get killed, is a viable way of making money.
Think about missiles. Are they ammunition or money in the bank ? Selling missiles other ships drop can be very lucrative. On the other hand, that expensive missile you pick up, could save your life. It depends a lot on what sort of combat pilot you are.
I recommend you turn on the mission guidance. Gold tags around an object and gold arrows help show the way to go, especially when you have not been there before.
Unless you enjoy being a snail, invest in a jumpdrive if you don’t have one at game start. And have as many ecells on hand as you can carry. Crawling around the universe can be tedious, and some of the plots have a long way to go. Jumping is quicker, especially jumping home is quicker.
Lets get going.
If your game start is not as Argon Peacekeeper, then you begin with a Link mission. Proceed to Argon Sector M148 or M148 as I’ll call it from now on, from where ever you start from. If you are an Argon Peacekeeper, you start in M148. (If you started as Terran, then stop now, this is an Argon plot.)
In M148, there is a position marker to find. Proceed to it and run it over. This starts the official plot. You get a welcome speech and sent off to join the front lines.
Your first job is to proceed to the war zone, indicated with red names in the nav map. The closest is Treasure Chest. If you havent been there before, you go north into Enduring Light, east into Nathans Voyage, north into Black Hole Sun and west into Treasure Chest.
Once there, you should find some Terrans and/or ATF. If you cant see ships in red, then your friend and foe settings need changing. Some of the game starts do not start you as deadly foe with the Terrans, so until you annoy them, they will be blue on your hud, and they will see you as blue. Pull off to one side of the action, and change your friend or foe settings to foe for both Terran and ATF. Now they will suddenly light up as red.
After you make a few kills, you get ordered back to M148.
You get given a special M5 and told to go to Albion to wait for a meeting. Be afraid, this ship only has 1mb sheilding, about as good as a sheet of tissue paper. For the duration of this mission, you need to avoid any conflict. Normal pirate and xenon patrols are around, so be careful.
The destination is Albion Gamma, which from M148 is N, E, E, E, E, N, a 6 sector journey.
You get directions on who to target, and how far away you need to be from them. Be careful, they move around a lot, so you may have to turn around and open the distance. Don’t get too far away, don’t get too close.
At some point you will be detected, after which you return to M148 back the same way you came. At M148, you get to keep the M5, and your told to wait.
A short wait only and your told to go to Interworlds to provide escort to a Mammoth. Interworlds is south of Wastelands, which is now on your nav map.
You are given an M6 for the job. Don’t take the M5 with you, or your personal ship if its less than the M6 in firepower or shielding. (They are just likely to be killed for no gain).
When you get there, the Mammoth is in the middle of an asteroid field. You need to get to within 5km of it to start the mission, at which point you are immediately attacked.
At some point, you will be told to instead patrol Interworlds. When the last of the reds are gone, a new enemy task force jumps in at the south gate as a blockade. The mission ends when the M2 is taken out. There is enough firepower in the sector so you don’t need to do this yourself, but the more you kill, the more you get in bounty.
When the reds are gone, you return to M148 and told to go aid the war effort until contacted.
If you don’t have a jump drive by now, go get one and some ecells. Then jump to Treasure Chest, and join in the red hunt.
While there, there is a war report saying contact was lost with Asteroid Belt. This appears to be a random message, but the prompt is for you to go to another war sector. When I did, I got a new mission. So I suspect that several war sectors travel triggers the plot along. It also indicates that until you visit a war sector, the plot is on hold, so these are the times to go and do your own thing. For example, the M6 can use some upgrades, so you need cash to pay for them.
Next your told to defend Jonferco Headquaters in Belt of Aguilar. This is on your nav map.
Take out as many as you can, but the HQ is lost, so don’t think it was your fault.
Now your told to take out the remaining Terran lasertowers after which you get told to patrol the sector and a new wave of enemy jump in. When they are gone, you return to M148.
The next mission is to protect a transport in Nathans Voyage. You will find it at Ammunition Factory Alpha. (Follow the guidance indicators, in case it’s a random station.)
The transport is heading to M148, so keep with it the whole way. There is light resistence in each sector. Wait until the transport has docked.
Next mission is to protect a station in Albion from pirates. Jump to Albion Gamma, go through the accelerator to Albion Beta and patrol the sector for pirates.
You are then asked to take 3 lasertowers to Albion Alpha. You will need to go find these. I found only 1 in that sector, so they could be anywhere nearby.
When you have 3 on board, go to the Berryl Research facility in Albion Alpha. Drop the 3 lasertowers close around it.
Now you get asked to bring them some resources. 200 computer components, 50 microchips and 10 IRE’s.
Now comes the interesting request. They want an L !
If your lucky, you have had contact with the Xenon and managed to claim one. If not, you need to go find some. North of Black Hole Sun, is a Xenon sector. If your feeling brave, go there, otherwise the sectors around it and attempt to find a patrol you can handle and get an L to go blue.
At this point, if your seriously tackling a xenon sector, you need some firepower and good shielding. Rapid fire guns like PBE’s, if you can mount them, are more likely to get a Xenon to go blue. PBE’s are largely what they are firing at you by the way.
When you have your L claimed, you need to get it to the Beryll Research Station. Having a TM or one of the new light carriers makes this easier, as you can dock it and jump out as fast as you can.
You are getting paid for this. The value of the ship plus some. So if you need to repair the hull to get some decent speed out of it, I’d do it, as you should get this back. Otherwise a damaged L will take ages to get there.
Once the L has docked, you get prompted to turn it over to them. They give you 3 ships as well as the promised payment.
Next your directed to the Highway Construction Area in Albion Beta. Run over a position marker after which you get pirates to shoot at. When all are gone, return to M148.
Again your told to go to the front line and aid the war effort, so jump to Treasure Chest. Not too long later you are again told to return to M148.
Now you are directed to fly to Harmony of Perpetuity. This is north of Elysium of Light. Getting there means flying through 2 war sectors, or at least, 1 if you jump straight into Elysium.
Protect an Argon Task Force Cerberus while it has a chat with a Teladi. At the end of the chat, the Cerberus jumps out. You have to rejoin it in Albion Beta.
Another station there is under attack by mercenaries, so anything red, kill it. There is another chat once all are dead.
You get invited to visit the Beryll Research Station again, as they have left another ship for you.
The plot is now complete.
After this, you keep getting war messages, and get invited to do things like “take back a sector”. Nothing official from this point on, only payment you get is the normal bounty on kills.
Not long after the plot ends, you will get an email from the Nvidium Mining and Manufacturing Corporation, inviting you to meet someone at NMMC HQ. This is located in the PTNI Headquarters sector, which is W, W, N of Omicron Lyrae. This is the beginning of the Player Headquarters sub-plot.

Enjoyed!
Thank you, I found a quick peruse very interesting.
I am toying with the idea getting AP once the, 'get rid of Steam.exe', is available. If I get it up and running I shall be sure to give this guide, serious study.

Re: Enjoyed!
On that note, and a bit off topic, but hey it my topic, lol, you need steam for activation. After that, you can put it in offline mode and disable your internet completely and the game is happy. Actually, I recommend that, since AP with the net on is a serious security hole. The main issue with it is the 9gb download, as it downloads the entire Superbox and AP together.David Howland wrote:Thank you, I found a quick peruse very interesting.

I wont run it on my main computer, but my old games computer that ran most of my TC playing, runs AP quite well, and I dont need the net going on that computer so disabling it is no problem.

They also contact you from Atreus for the HUB mission.

Thanks for mentioning that. I've not done either yet. They are different from the TC plots, but the end result is the same, so I'm not sure if I will do them or not yet.pulzarokkit wrote:They also contact you from Atreus for the HUB mission. Not long after the plot ends, you will get an email from the Nvidium Mining and Manufacturing Corporation, inviting you to meet someone at NMMC HQ. I just looked up both MD.
Both plots require high rank. Both plots require you to have knowledge of a particular station in race space. Teladi is their space north central, Boron is their space SW. So it means to do both, you have to have explored a good chunk of the universe.
The Teladi HQ plot also requires a player statistic I cant identify, but could be a minimum trading rank. (Which would make sense for them, being about profitzzzz.)

I puzzled over that, but it would not continue until I built the single station, even though I had the complex built.Ketraar wrote:How can you build a complex without building a station?
If you have a complex, you got min 1 in the required statistic (Stations Build), that's one requirement for the HQ Plot.
MFG

I tried every other suggestion given me and that one, which as you seem to agree was unlikely, was in fact what stopped my progression.
@ apricotslice...
You may wish to compare notes with the other walkthroughs and my story at

I have all three plots complete, afaik.
Just done the Hub Plot as far as being given full control.
It is compatible with your first adaption of the All Plots Complete [TC] Mod , for AP.
It keeps your hub sector's name but changes the Hub name to Gate Hub.

I think I'm with you on this one. When I did the Peacekeeper start I only had a single station (ore mine in Twisted Skies) and met all the other criteria the plot kicked in without a problem.TTD wrote:I puzzled over that, but it would not continue until I built the single station, even though I had the complex built.
I tried every other suggestion given me and that one, which as you seem to agree was unlikely, was in fact what stopped my progression.
However, on the Tormented Teladi start I had a weed complex in Gunne's Crusade, I met all the other criteria but nothing! It wasn't until I built that mine again that I got the message.
Strange. Very strange! But then, it is the X-Universe afterall!
PS
Going completely off topic, when did the spell-checker in 'Post Reply' start?
If it doesn't work, give it a kick. If that doesn't fix it hit it with a hammer. If it still doesn't work, USE A BIGGER HAMMER!!!

Thank you i understood the can't do the plots as Terran but i started as the guy that's 42 and a argon, i just want to get access to all the ships and equipment really.TTD wrote:On order to do some things in AP you need a low rank with Terrans, but if you do all three plots, you can then do missions for Terrans,or kill Terran enemies in their space,to bring your rep up.
But if you have started as Terran ,you can't do any plots.
