[AP INFO] Undocking oversized M6

Post by Gazz »

I was testing something else today but over the course of the test, I noted some undocking issues.

Some M6 models are simply larger than others and when undocking under manual player control, their wings / spikes / whatever hit part of the station / carrier... and the ship turns into ship bits.

The list: (just FYI)

Corvette
Heavy Hydra
Heavy Nemesis
Heavy Osprey
Hydra
Hyperion
Nemesis
P
PX
Springblossom
Vali

All of these ships will crash if manually undocked (flown by the player) from a Kyoto.

Some of them will crash if manually undocked from a station - or some stations at least.

There are no problems if such a ship undocks under AI control, with the player not on board.

... but there are also fewer problems if such a ship undocks under AI control from problematic stations even with the Player aboard so that is often worth a try first before making more complex arrangements. Obviously not so suitable for DiD games.

True enough but if you want to play with a Kyoto as a homebase, it might be wise to pick M6 that are not on this list. =)

This isn't meant as a bug report - just useful information.
I don't like vague statements like "some M6" being problematic on the Kyoto. (or stations)

Should the Chokaro be on that list as well, (despite being a TM)?

Dunno. You tell me...

I only tested M6.
Not TM or a gazillion of TS variants. =)

Definitely blows undocking from the Boron EQD. I'll check the Kyoto later.

Is this fixed in 2.0? It's quite frustrating. I have a Boron equipment dock in one of my core sectors, and my main ship is a Springblossom. I always forget to leave on autopilot and have to reload.

@ moon-monster: It is is not in the changelog for 2.0 so I would say it is probably not changed.
