how to make money in a short time?!?!?

I am on the mission where you are to upgrade to an M4 and build a station or two to get a financial backing. I am wondering what I should do to make a decent amount of money in a short time. I have a little over 300,000 credits my starting ship and the damaged mercury they gave me. Any suggestions welcome.

well since this is the scripting forum, how about creating a script with the following line in:

the code he gave you is a cheat script, this is the wrong place to ask this question, check out This Link for some tips if you are not into cheating.

activate the script editor while flying in space, by typing Thereshallbewings (with the Capital T) and no menus should appear if you did it right, now, press CTRL+C and then S to access the script editor, hit enter, and then hit enter again to make a new script, in that script scroll down to new line, and then hit trade or general commands (either one, i dont remember) and give player money should be somewhere near the top, then scroll down to input number, type in whatever amount of money you want to have.

And then, hit ESC, select save and press enter, then scroll down to your script, and hit R to run the script, NULL for first command i believe, the script will revert back to the script menu, dont worry! the script has gone through, now check your account and whatever number you put in the script will be in there! easy as that.

Buy a Crystal Fab and place it in The Wall, also buy Silcon at its lowest price in (sorry cant remember name of system) the system north of Argon Prime and sell it in Red Light system or the one south of it, im on the same mission and have done this and it seems to be working so far, i also sold the first ship i was given and kept the one the chinese bird gave me and maxed it out with the money i got from the sale of the other ship, i've now got enough money (after producing and selling quite a bit of Crystals) to buy another ship (buy another one the same as the one the chinese bird gave you, boring i know but the best option at this point!) and kit it out with command software, i bought navigation and trade mk 1 and 2 and set my other ships home base as my Crystal Fab. I then go about my buisness (mostly trading Silicon Wafers and doing odd jobs on the stations bulletin boards (when your of a high enough rank (this just comes with making money, dont worry it'll come in time)) anyway i go about my buisness whilst instructing my other ship do look after all my stations needs using the trading and navigational software eg: sell wares (crystals) for best price, buy wares (energy cells) for best price, Buy wares (meatstake cahonnas) for best price (this is why you need another ship like the one the chinese girl gave you as it can hold extra large cargo and meatstakes are extra large)
Any way good luck mate, im not saying this is the right approch as im in the same boat as you, well maybe in a boat slightly further down the river .........(?!).........anyway it's working for me so far, i maybe very wrong but i'll find out soon enough (oh one tip if you use the command software, keep an eye on where your other ship flys to as if it fly through Presidents End then you can kiss it goodbye, maybe stronger sheilds will prevent this dont know yet, any way see ya mate
