The scientists can't figure out where it fits in with evolution as yet and like they have hinted....it might have been a 'dead end'. :gruebel:

Fruit bats... gliding squirrels?.....hmmm...the feathers don't fit in well there :D

it could be a cross-breed with a terradactil and an oversized bat :)

A few years back there was a fossil about that had the scientists thinking they had found the evolutionary step from a dinosaur to a bird. It had a value of over 1 million dollars. For years it was studied all over the world, then one day this guy looked at it and said "hey there is something not right about this" and examined it a little bit more closely and discovered that it was a fake with a net worth of a few dollars. iirc that came from china also.

how do they know that it had feathers and not stretched leather?
