Problems accessing this forum with username?

Post by Steel »

Hi all,

Your username on this forum is NOT the same one as the old THQ forum. It is your DevNet account. So use your DevNet account and password or create a new one.

Many of you have had problems, mainly due to forgetting what email address you used or what your password was on DevNet.

Simply send me an email with your username and email address and i'll reset your password or whatever else I need to do to fix it. Oh AND post a reply to this thread at the same time as a guest, specifiying your username, so I can verify the email header matches the post.

You may find that your username is already taken by someone else if your didn't previously have a DevNet account. Sorry.

I've already fixed dozens, so feel free to contact me :-)

hope that helps

Steel

DevNet account

Post by Brianetta »

For some time now (many months) I've been unable to use my devnet account as I've forgotten my password. The scripts that send new ones have failed in a variety of amusing ways (the most recent one was "This account name is already being used, choose another").

I'd be really, really grateful if you could do something, anything, to get my level 5 account working for me again. It's associated with the email address Brian.Ronald at unforgettable.com

Many thanks.

What user name?

(I currently don't have direct access to the DB, so can only query by username, not email address)

Probably Brianetta, possibly Brian Ronald. I always used a cookie to remember me, so I'm not 100% sure. Neither appears in the Memberlist, leading me to suspect that my account got vanished somehow. Bernd will still have the paper copy of my NDA, if a new account needs to be made up.

Hello Brian,

the Brianetta account you are using now seems to be a new one created with this forum. That means that the old Brianetta account must have been deleted before.

Please email me the promotion password that you received by mail. I will try to find out what has happened with your old account.

Hi Steel. :)

I'm another one of the lost password victims. Here's what happened:

I registered on the Devnet as Belgarath and egosoft mailed the password to me at the address that I specified ( blgarath@bellsouth.net which was my account with my ISP). When I closed that account and moved to Kansas, that address became invalid. When I got back from Kansas, I tried to get the password but, seeing as the address that I registered with is no longer active, that didn't work.

Ok. If it's possible, can you change the address listed for the Belgarath account to my hotmail address? (which you should have at any moment  ) If not, then I guess the password reset is the only option. I'll post this same message on the forum under the username of Belgarath7042. I prefer to have just Belgarath.

I hope you can figure this out because I sure can't.

Thanks,

Bill Cook (aka Belgarath aka Belgarath7042)

You should be able to change that yourself now.

me too please

I'm currently operating under gharper with greyfish@speakeasy.net as the email account.

my old forgotten devnet was gharper1 with greyfish7@aol.com the aol.com account is no longer active.

if its possible could you delete the gharper1/greyfish7@aol.com account from the database (since the email account no longer active and I can't remember the password)?

thanks

Can't find it. It'll be with my NDA, but I hid it somewhere far too safe. I have to go to work, but I'll look again this evening.
