Re: How do i install mods
You'll need OlisJ's x2modder or Stone-D's tool (Patcher v09)Coldrush wrote:I have the european version please help
You can find them here

Onced you've unpacked the cat/dat files, moves these originals to a backup fololder. Then you need to combine 01data, 02data, and 03data into 1 folder. Move the contents of 02data into 01data overwriting as you go, then move the contents of 03data into 01data overwriting again. Then move the contents of 01data into the x2 root directory, delete the empty 01data, 02data,and 03data folders. Now you are ready to unpack the pck files in the types folder. Unpack the ones you want then move the original to the backup folder you created earlier. The new txt files can be opened with notepad and modded till your heart is content.

At this point you'll find Storm_Fronts Mod Kit at the xscripting site very useful.

More detailed instructions are available here and at the above sites, you may have to search a little

You will have to register so that you can gain access to the downloads section, there a loads of scripts and mods, I suggest you try something popular like the HQ Mod, it is simple to use, and MOST scripts and mods come with README's that detail the 'were' to put them.
*btw, they also have a forum that covers scripting so if you can't find it here...

If you have downloaded the HQ mod then you just need to decompress it, not all mods actually need you to unpack the game or activate them in the editor which is why they usually come with Readmes that gives you clear indications what is involved.
To manually activate a script (assuming that you have put it into the right places, e.g. 't' for 't' and 'scripts' for 'scripts'.
-When you are flying through space type in Shift + Thereshallbewings (Only the T is case sensitive), you should here a beep of acknowledgement. Now press S (ship info) C (Command Console) S (Script Editor), acknowledge all the help and warnings, you should see the script, scroll down and highlight it and then press 'r', DO NOT press enter and then 'r' as this does nothing!!! You may and will need to alter values DEPENDING on each individual script. It sounds daunting, but once you get the hang of it, wells it's really quite simple.
I am going to get a link that may help.
