The Stoertebeker Mission

On the final part of the mission when you have to confront Stoertebeker in his Teladi Falcon (with a 125M shield!), did anyone manage to capture his ship? I could only ever get to destroy it.

Would have been another mission trophy like the Persius.

i never got this far into the mission, nor have i ever heard anyone speak of a tel. fal. with a 125 mw shield . if you have the save game, or just remember, how many parts of the mission did you complete for this to happen, and where did the 'missionettes' get offered

Its right.
In the last chapter of the Stoertebekermission (why "stoertebeker"?In germans game he is named Bala Gi) on the side of the Borons,the Pirate-boss Stoertebeker(Bala Gi) wants to kill you.

He has got a Teladi M3 Falcon,named "Thunder".
It has got one 125MW and one 25MW shield.

Its not possible to capture the ship.
I tried 6 hours to capture it,it didnt work.

I forgot it also had a 25MW as well. Just remember the 125MW. I thought here we go again, another Persius style battle. Was a lot easier though as I had both the Xperimental and the Persius to try. Had the carrier parked in Kindom End.

I picked up the last part of the mission from either the trading station, space equipment dock or shipyard in Kingdom End. I think that's where I was offered the initial part as well.

I am pretty sure I made a back-up of the save game for that last part (just before entering one of the above stations in Kingdom End to pick up the last part of the mission).

The initial mission was to blow up a pirate base in Teladi Gain, if you landed you had a choice on blowing it up or going with Stoertebeker (I never tried following that path).
Then to destroy a pirate freighter or two.
Then a Teladi Phoenix plus other ships.
Finally the Falcon with the 125MW and 25MW shields.

It,s been awhile, so I am a bit rusty on remembering all the parts of the mission. (like a mini Persius mission)

Err, maybe it's just me, but IIRC the mission is supposed to have some kind of a bug inside, like after wasting the base you couldn't get any more missions or some such...

Yes,you CAN get more missions.
But most time the Borons will wait a couple of 100 hours gametime until they give u the next part.

I think I must have been lucky with that one. I'm using version 2.1a.

I had to report back to a base in Kingdom End after each part. I also found I could capture the freighter (I think there two other ships with it as well) that I was supposed to destroy but the mission would not end for that part unless the freighter, etc were destroyed. I found a way past that - if you sent the ships to the shipyard and sold them, the mission would complete. I suppose the ships would come up as then destroyed.

Two things. You get the missions for the Equipment Dock in Kingdom End. The bugs in the mission were fixed in later patches.

On the first part of the mission, I bought all the space flies from the pirate base before I blew it up, made a good profit selling them to the Split Rastar and Chelt factories
