Now, I know this was already covered in that Ultimate Guide to Absolutely Everything - the fact of the matter is that scripts get deleted, updated and apparently renamed.. I've only been able to find a couple of the recommended scripts.
All this number stuff in the forums means absolutely zilch to me - all I want to know is what people think the best game-enhancing scripts/mods currently available are. I don't mean cheats, I don't mean uber-ships - I'm talking about new creations, streamlined trade scripts - heck, I don't know what I'm talking about, I don't make the stuff! I just want a good game.
Yes, I could try out a bunch at random, yes, I'm actually already trying that.. but.. what do you guys recommend? What do you use?
Oh, and what's the likelihood of scripts conflicting with each other, anyway?

I think the number stuff you're referring to are mods. Once the game is unpacked they're much easier than scripting and you don't have to worry about conflicting scripts.
My favorite mod at xscripting is the "high speed laser mod", I think there's a couple of them, they significantly improve combat. Every time I decide to try a script or two I start getting ctd's and freezes. I've recently started modding the missiles, making the mosquito a true intercept rocket and the nuke (hornet) something to be avoided at all cost.

Scripts I cannot live without:
BuyWare replacement (allows you to tell a transport to buy from a certain factory x amount of times at x price)
Xai Coropration's Jumpdrive Commands V3 (no explanation needed)
Station Accountant 3.5 Revised (can't live without it if you have over 50 factories)

I need, but don't have the xai jumpdrive commands (I often have ships that I need to send on errands to distant sectors)
I run a very complex trading empire in the pirate sectors. There's no way, and I mean NO WAY I could keep up with half of the administration without the automation I have going.
I'd be spending a good half of my playing time just taking money out of and putting money into factories, much less replacing ships from attrition.
I use teladi autotrader to turn a couple extra bucks and keep the NPC economy going (it breaks after a while and stuff stops getting supplied)

Oh, yeah.. preferably put links in to these scripts when you mention them, too! 
Finished reading through the manual.. a look at the inventory list sure does make me hope there are more items in the game than what they listed!! Five missile types and one mine type?? I'm going to have to go play to make sure.. I've been envisioning this game as something like EV Nova in 3D but without planetary domination
Any conflicts you guys know of would probably be helpful too, I think.

I use the Get Ware replacement script, this is good to MAKE your own ships buy from YOUR factories
The orginal only gets the item once, the replacement script you can specify how many times to get the ware or infinite.
eg if you have a M5 on a M6 set to homebase you can tell the M5 to get ECs 5 times from a factory.
eg infinite is good for telling your cattle rance to always get ECs from YOUR SPP and noone elses.
Up until using Get Ware wil self sustaining loop factories I use the Xai Trade script. This allows you to have less freighters eg in a SPP one freighter can do the job of both BUY the crystals or sell the ECs.
Xai JumpDrive software - not used it yet but will.
