X2 - Larger / Extended Map

Hi

I'm working on a larger map for X2 , similar to the one in Extended and I have a few Newbie questions that I thought you guys might be able to answer:-

1) Will it make a significant difference to the game if I specify which Lasers and Missiles the non player ships have on board? - specifically the M1, M2, M6 and M3 ships as the non player ships in the standard X2 sectors don't list the types in the Contents: Lasers or Contents: Missiles

I'm using xehonks Galaxy Editor

2) In Content: Upgrades the M1 & M2 ships (non player) have only a Docking Computer listed.
Will it change the ships' behaviour in any way, if I add things such as:
WareT (Tech): Triplex Scanner
WareT (Tech): Navigation Command Software MK1
WareT (Tech): Fight Command Software MK1
WareT (Tech): Fight Command Software MK2 ?

1) Yes... a NPC Mamba will not beat a Khaak M3 Fighter however, if that Mamba was to mount bigger weapons like a PSG or PPC then the Mamba would eradicate the Khaak M3. I would stick to the regular categories and emphasize on such as;
Argon: All round ships
Boron: Good cargo holds
Split: Speed + Firepower *not including generator size*
Teladi: Good shields
Paranid: Better fighters than traders
Khaak: Superior firepower, better speed little cargo
Xenon: Fairly all round from what I have seen... bit more agressive though
Pirate: Good cargo, good firepower... fairly slow

However in sector (IS) and out of sector (OOS) are to different styles of play. Just cause out of sector a ship gained victory in sector it could be the opposite.



2) As far as I know they should do their basic job, i.e Triplex scanner will mean much longer range for ships, fighter command will make the AI work more better I think... dont quote me on it.
