Firstly, what stick is it and how long have you had it? Could just be that the stick is to old to be recognised. And in computer terms, that could easily be 1 year 18 months.
some who deserve life receive death. Others who deserve death receive life. Can you give it to them? Don't be eager to deal out death in judgement, for not even the wise can see all ends.

File system makes no difference whatsoever. Have you installed the latest drivers for your joystick?dh_mann wrote:As i said in my last post i am having trouble getting the computer to reconise my joy stick after getting a new hard drive.I have just noticed that when he reinstalled xp home he selected the ntfs file system, the joystick did work with the Fat 32 system,so is it the ntfs system is incompatable with joysticksany help gratefully accepted Dennis

Have you got the service release 1 update for Win XP.
This addresses some USB problems, ie - USB2.0. It cured a problem I had with USB and PCMCIA on a notebook computer. As already mentioned, get the latest drivers for your joystick. I have found that appears to to be the norm when using devices with Win XP
I did put some ideas on your other post but they generally apply to older versions of Windows.
Hope this helps.
