Which file to unpack for modding?

I Have the US version of the game. From a fresth load there is no Tships.pck or any other Tships, there is no "types" folder with Tships or Tlasers file. I am guessing I need to unpack a: pck or dat file to get this folder and these files to make a moddification. I have the v2 Modder and it is intalled. Which file(s) so I need to unpack to get the Tships/Tlasers files. From a fresh load I did a search and these do not currently exist.

It is the .dat file(s) in the game's folder you have to unpack. Perhaps it is the .cat file (their directory) which you have to point it to as I am not familiar with the modding tool you named.

Thanks for the Help, finally got to the types folder. When I ran the 1.2 patch it gave me 2 more files to be unpacked, as a result there are 2 types folders. If I make a mod via the Tships.txt file, do I need to put this file in each of the types folder?

You need to combine the files before you do any modding.
You also should patch the game before attemting to unpack anything.
Anyways, once the game is patched, the sec. cat. files are unpacked, then you need to combine the 3 data files as I explained in an earlier post to you. Then you can begin modding.

Must have missed the part about combinning the .dat files. How do I combine them? put all 3 in one folder?

Thanks much for all the Help Storm. I got that Modified osprey. quite a bit faster also.

You can do a lot in the Tlasers, Tbullets, and Trockets files as well, happy modding and good profit to you. :D
