What do you like to see in upcoming X2 mods?
I for one would love to pay extra for a TS-M6 Hybrid. Maby less cargo hold space. A couple of turrets for better missle and smal fighter protection. Also more shield variety. Maby more ship class varients.

Also space for new ships is limited. The maximum number of ships is 201, if I remember right. This means, variants of an Argon Nova (for example) can be added, but it will still be a M3 ship class, no M3+.

There are still some mods under development for X2. Currently known mods under development: Top Gun Mod, X2 Pandora, P.X.D.
This thread is meant as a reference for the modders out there. It is not connected to any of these mods. It's purpose is to voice your opinions what you would like to see in a mod. Maybe the developers will pick up the ideas.

New ship classes can't be added except for elaborating the built-in support for M0.Maby more ship class varients.

Well I think you know what I want Chris 
I want a super Uber ship which can fire a high powered weapon and is forced to recharge after it is fired however, with this one shot I would like the blast diameter to be huge and for it also to destroy things behind whatever I hit first and have a really long distance range. Perhaps 100km. Easy to do with the Tbullets but a ship like that would need to look mean lol.

@ chris: thats exatly why I started thi post Im not good wit setting up poles thoough.
what I meant about varients would be job specific ships.
such as an M5 with high speeds big enough cargo to hold triplex
scanner, Making it the best suited forwaerd scout.
an M6 class with 2 foward fixed weopons 2x top, bottom, right, left,rear

would only be good against M3,M4,M5, and missles.

Then no poll. These are good for people that don't want to write and to get a quick overview, but they are usually not suited to mirror the exact opinion. Hmm perhaps myself or Chris should get a poll thread setup for these kind of things. If we find out what people like we could edit the first post and give news on upcoming mods and links to their forums even. I should imagine it would popularise X2 a bit better if we organised things for ourselves.
We could leave a nice part for requests leading into mods as well. It would be a kind of modding HQ for X2 lol.

Another thing that would be good is a free lance scientist overclocking port. You dock in this equipement and they basically supertune your ship in different aspects not just rudder and engines but, also shields and lasers.

Well, this is a good idea. But noone has moderator rights. We have three possibilites:It would be a kind of modding HQ for X2 lol
- start a new thread with a poll added and ask the moderators to merge the two threads
- or we develop the poll stuff and dathion adds it to his opening post (does this work?)
- we stick to this thread as it is.
I would prefer to be NOT the one in charge

Too bad the designers went the way of preconfigured ship designs. I would have liked to see custom ship design built into the game... with several variety of hulls that can accomodate many different turret layouts. I think design on the scale of something like the original master of orion or MOO2 would have been 5/5. That way we wouldn't have to spend time messing with data files - and risk causing conflicts that will crash x2. For those of us who're less hardcore in the area of content generation (like me), it would have been greatly appreciated.
