SoundTrack list ???

Post by DaddyNoMates »

Anybody got a list of which mp3 goes with which sector or event ??

Would love to customize all the music. Like Prodigy's firestarter when fighting or maybe a bit of pink floyd would be nice with 'The Wall' sector.

Its a bit of a process listening to each mp3 then trying to work it out by memory. I found that file 00040 is Argon Prime for example after about half hour.

Thanks

Sorry, I don't know of any list and I can't remember seeing any.

But the soundtracks are organized in sections. 01001-01005 are tracks for enemy encounters, 02001-02006 are station sounds, 03001-03004 are main title music tracks.

presidents end help

Post by ANEG »

probably find that it would not play because you will probably find that the game would not know to look for a file named 1006. i am currently trying to work out which track is for the presidents end destroyed theme, where all of the stations are destroyed when you go in the sector.

this is because some of the parts of the music are a bit loud and sudden.

i think that the 60*** files are to do with the missions because i think that 06176 is the final scene

Well I changed the battle sounds and none of them played on X2, they was in MP3 format same as the X2 tunes. I wanted to add some songs from the Gundam Wing Original Soundtrack.

i've managed to replace one of the sound tracks with something different.

i replaced the docking sound with knights of the round table which is a similar length and size to the doccking sound. however if we were to find out what secors used which music we could replace all of the sounds we don't like to music we do.

http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=102521 try this link for the sound track list.

yes it is for the x3 list but apparently a lot of the x2 music got recycled and put into x3 even through a lot of it was not used.

there are also instructions on how to change the names if you are still unsure of what to do.

however one word of warning. if you have not completed x3 and would like to do so DO NOT highlight the space in the spoiler tages between {08201} and {08202 "Suspense 1" }

I don't think it has do do anything with the size. it would be strange at least ...
I think it's thhe file-format, or the codec (something like that)
I've tried to replace a sound too but it never worked ;(
For me the soundfiles are .wav, not mp3 - i still have treid both, but nope :x

hope someone finds out!! :D

Hmmm perhaps there is a minimum length. Try a song longer than 6 minutes.

I never had a problem with the files in the soundtrack folder. I think Shadow Dream is right: it's either the file format or the codec. Could you be more specific about which file you want to replace, and what file format, bit rate etc. the new file is using?

I wanted to change the battle tracks... 01001 to 01005 or something like that. I know which ones the battle tracks are. But yeah I wanted to throw in some music from the Gundam Wing OST theyre both mp3 format but they did not work. Its either codecs or a length issue.

It is strange as I have managed to get a track working now. I am going to try the previous tracks and see if they work now.

Perhaps it is length. The track I think was 3:52, and was from the original Gundam Soundtrack too.

I've been dealing with this also, and it appears that it isn't the length, since I replaced with 2 different sounds, one shorter and one longer then the original and it still managed to play the original music, also tried "hiding" the original music by placing it in another folder.

I'm running out of ideas :S

Don't know, also tried changing the bit rate but it didn't help either. Strange I thought it would only be replacing names, anyways if I manage to find a solution, I'll post it in here, just wanted to put some music but it's not a big deal.

Well, could you be more specific about what you're trying to do, which folder you put your files in and by what name?

I never had any problem replacing the music files in soundtrack-folder. They all played well. I also inserted files with numbers not used before, and adjusted the map to use those files in specific sectors - never had a problem with these mp3-files. It's only the s-folder from cat/dat's that are more picky....
