Backup of savegames

When reading a post earlier on this morning, the poster sensibly recommended backing up savegames uniquely which is a very good idea.

I have been through my x3 directory (am running x3TC) and cannot for the life of me find a savegame directory.

Please advise

Savegames are located in 'My Documents/EGOSOFT/X3TC/save'

know this a newbie question lol but how do I back up my saved games? Do I just save the save game folder onto a cd disk? Thanks for help.

Yes.

If you're backing up onto a CD then make sure the 'read-only' flag is not set when you restore them.

Archiving them into a single RAR or ZIP file would do, also. Easier to carry...

Same question but for a steam user.

I'd assumed steam/steamapps/common/x3tc would have a "save" or other appropriate folder full of games, but i can't find it.

come to think of it i can't see my screen shots either....

i'm gonna have another look around

The savegames are in the same place in all versions of the game, as per Xenon_Slayer's post and this FAQ entry.
