Best buy/sell price finder???

Hi, new here. I just (finally) managed to find a copy of x-Tension! (X-Gold actually, so i have two x-btf!)
I hunted around for it a year ago or so, but when i couldn't find it i forgot about the game...
Now, i decided to buy the German version from Egosoft and then download the English language. But before i got around to ordering it i found the game in store where i live!!!

I wanted to ask a question about the "best price finder".
The "best buy" part is working as i thought it would. I can see the prices for all goods in the sectors where i have satellites.
But the "best sell" one is buggering me!??
Somehow the only merchandise showing up on this list is a 1MW shield!
At first i thought that it might that the 1MW shield was the only thing i had on/in my ship that could be sold.

But that's not it. Just now i had a full cargo of Ore, and i was in a system that buys Ore (checked it first)... Still no Ore on the "best sell" list...??

Am i doing something wrong? Should i somehow specify what product i want to check the buying price for or...?

Any help would be great...

ore shoudl appear but not every sector buys ore. try different sectors

hang on.. the only thing is a 1mw shield? all your equipment should be there too. your SETA video goglles best buy/ best sell computer etc should say the local equipment dock or say no buyer.

is your game patched?

How to explain this simply.

If you use the 'best sell' in the sector you're in then it will show you a complete list of who will buy each and every item fitted to the ship (even some of the upgrades that you can't sell)

If you remote access a satellite and look at the best sell then it will show you who wants to buy the items carried by the satellites, i.e. a 1MW shield.

It does not take a look at your own ships cargo bay. Not so useful under these circumstances.

However this really proves its worth when your remote managing another freighter or ship. As you can send it off to buy energy cells and by looking it up on the 'property owned' you can then find out the best buyer for that product in the sector the ship is in! Without being in the same sector.

The x-gold i bought had the patches on the CD, both 14-21 and 21-21a
It says version 2.1.6.7 on the properties of x-tension.exe, is that the
latest?

Ahhh... That explain things! I get it, didn't think about that. I'll do another test without using the satellite and see how it works.

fast help. just wanted to be first. which i am surprised at. usually one of the oldies get in here first.

but now i know what you mean i have never actually thought about that problem. i normally just open the factories in other sectors and looka t the prices manuallly. but that might be just me bein an eejit.

and those are the latest patches on the CD

Back to X-Tension! It really is an addictive game.

I'm about to decide if i'll get a M3 ship, with which i can go do some "hunting" or if i'll get a factory or two first... Or maybe...or...hmm...
