Persistent Universe games
Can anyone recomend some cool online games like Jumpgate? I just got my cable internet all hooked up and want to download some persistent universe games. There was one I found a while ago but I cant remember it's name- it was the one where you use your credit card to transfer money into your game account as a different way of paying for the service. Anyone know the name of this one or some other interesting ones?
Thanks

Project Entropia seems pretty cool, going to download it when I finish downloading Independence War 2. It's still going to be a couple hours at 300 megabytes though, so is it really worth it? Are there lots of people inside and stuff going on or is it still too new? Their page doesnt give any details, like how you move around, first person or point and click or whatever.

it is going 'Gold' at the end of January, which i presume means in the shops ... i just tried it there now, hunted a few big slow brutes and looted sum stuff, prospected and mined for raw minerals, and went to a settlement to get there teleporter added to my listcapitalist5000 wrote:Project Entropia seems pretty cool, going to download it when I finish downloading Independence War 2. the map is pretty darn big, so running into peeps is confined to the settlements (big grey blocks in map) the shop containers (small red dots) and the 'mobs' of wildlife that peeps hunt (have to find them urself)
well worth it

I trust you are not downloading software illegally. I refer you to the forum rules at the top of this board.capitalist5000 wrote:Project Entropia seems pretty cool, going to download it when I finish downloading Independence War 2. Entropia has to be downloaded to play it (It is still in beta) so there is no software piracy going on there Steel.
Adamanski, you played Entropia? I played for about 2 days, couldn't achieve anything. Then they changed your clothes to the orange pyjamas, forcing you to spend real Credit Card money to buy new clothes or look like a dick. That was kind of the end for me.
I admit I didn't delve too deepley, but from what I could see, the only thing you could do was buy lots of in game credits using your real credit card, then use those to buy a gun to shoot the odd alien. That seemed to be it.
Tell me, what did I miss? Convince me to go back to it.

No, it doesn't. It means the game is finished and they can send a final CD image ("gold disc") to the duplicators; they then have to run off X thousand copies of the disc, package them up with an attractive manual, and send them off to the shops, all of which can take anything up to a couple of months.Adamskini wrote:it is going 'Gold' at the end of January, which i presume means in the shops ...

Whats all this about piracy? Some developers release these things called "demos" that actually let you try the game before you buy it. I'm just kidding egosoft rocks.
