General Problems

I've been quite happily playing for many weeks but when I go back many things have gone wrong.

1/ The SETA Factor doesn't work (J)

2/ If you go into the main view it swings to the left.

3/ Sector & Universe Maps don't work off the keyboard (. & ,)

4/ Personal Statistics on the keyboard (P) is limited.

And several other minor things.

I have tried other saved games but I get the same results.
It hasn't made any difference.

I've checked settings and as far as I can see they seem alright. There doesn't seem to be a default setting.

I thought about uninstalling and re-installing the game, but you do this as a last resort hoping it'll work. But it really has to be the last resort.

Has anybody got any ideas?

How about providing the information requested in the very first thread in this forum?

As quick initial answers:

1. What do you mean by "doesn't work"? If you mean that SETA doesn't start then the chances are your joystick (assuming you are using one) is sending a continuous signal to the game.

2. Joystick calibration is probably the issue here, and could also be causing 1.

3. Either you've changed or lost the mapping, or it's yet another symptom of the above.

4. Define "limited".

Can't be activated close to a structure or when another button is being pressed or if thrust is being altered (among other things)

2/ If you go into the main view it swings to the left.

Joystick / joypad calibration. Analogue control not centered or has a too small deadzone.

3/ Sector & Universe Maps don't work off the keyboard (. & ,)

2 swings to the left, you say? Hm. Most menues can be navigated with arrow keys or hat controller stick. If your hat is dragging left, I think it may close the maps immediately. I'm not sure.

Dunno about 4 though. Haven't looked at it. Is anything missing? I think I know my money isn't listed there.

I've downloaded the drivers. Everythings back to normal.
