Proper widescreen support?

Love X3. Wasn't going to buy X3:TC until the TAGES was removed, but I find myself now with a bit of extra money and in need of a game that I can lose myself in.

However!

Does X3:TC properly support widescreen resolutions now? I don't mean 4:3 stretched or letterboxed, but properly support 16:9/16:10/"non-4:3 aspect ratios"? X3 will run at widescreen resolutions sure, but it's really just 4:3 stretched and I honestly don't have a non-widescreen/standard letterbox monitor around.

If it does, I'll likely be picking it up soon. I sincerely hope it does

note: I've searched and searched the forums, both with the (extra crappy) forum search and through google's site:forum.egosoft.com magic, but couldn't find any answers. Sorry if the answer is in front of me, I really can't find it

Did you try the Mk 1 Eyeball? 4 posts down.

Extra Searching for widescreen in TC tech support also gives a bunch of hits that look relevant.

Holy crap. Mk1 Eyeball failed me pretty terribly.

The forum search just has a terrible signal:noise ratio.
