I run X3:TC quite fine except for the sectors with a big complex (tens or hundred of factories, Egosoft makes me build this for the stupid Hub). In any empty sector deploying a station from a TL works just fine, but when adding a station to a big complex the animation takes up to 3 minutes to complete (measured in Aldrin) because it insists to draw every single frame around the TL and the station.
One may argue this is not a bug, but a performance problem, I consider any obviously avoidable performance degradation a bug. A simple switch in the Game options can remove the problem unless a coder at Egosoft has too much time to spent on optimizing the animation (I don't think so, there are so many other things to optimize ... ).
There is no animation as such, just a change of camera view. There's no reason why it should be any slower than any other view. Perhaps if you provided the information requested in the very first thread in this forum, we might be able to see why you are having so much trouble with it.
As I said, in sectors with any big complex the framerate drops significantly, so I am tryinng to fly there not looking at the complex - this works. But, when the TL unloads the factory the camera si rotating so it will display the complex twice, one when it rotates around the TL and once for the factory (which is in the complex). It helps sometimes to check if the factory is positioned well, but most of the time is just messing with the gameplay.
I did read the announcement but there is nothing to see in my config: the game works, just in this specific case the loss of performance is not justified and easily avoidable. I have the same performance loss looking at the complex from my and I can choose not to do that, why to I have to get those minutes of "one frame each 5 seconds" and I am not allowed to disable? For a 100 factory complex on Aldrin try to calculate how long it takes just to unload. It's the gameplay that is affected by this animation and people (buy and) play games to have fun, not to get iritated. This is definitely NOT fun.
Aldrin has a lot of silicon, that's why I build there, I know the downsides.
Right, so you have a more general performance issue (presumably along the lines of this fairly lengthy thread). You may not be able to see anything in your DXDiag report that could be causing it, but someone else might.
Regarding an option to switch off the build cutscene, I don't know whether there are any plans to provide such a feature. I'm just here to help you look at potential ways to solve the underlying problem.
I don't have a performance issue with this however I would like the option to turn it off. Gets annoying if you have more than 1 station to drop at a time.
Yes, I have that general performance problem but I am not complaining about it, only about the easy fix for the station unloading sequence. My DirecX diag report will probably induce more confusion because I am not using a regular OS but a corporate customized server version (that's why I don't have complains about the general performance).

Well, probably CBJ will say this is not the right place to say it, but I agree, is a little bit silly having to see the same sequence 100 times when you have to build a big complex. There should be this option to disable it.
