I just dug out my old x2 game to brush up on my space flight combat chops. I had beat the game and become a mogol but lost my savegames. I dont want to start over, is there anyway to skip the storyline missions?

Start in a custom galaxy. There is no story line in custom galaxies, but the Khaak will be there anyway after some time.

Or, you could ask someone if they can email you their savegame; it might work.
