Pirate Truelight Seeker & Marine Usage Problems.
Hi all.
1st of all I would like to take this oppertunaty to thank the people at egosoft and all their support friends for sorting out my game bug. 1.4 stopped the error of the looping mission. Thanks Very Much! I can now play the game again!!!
However, now I have protected the boron, I have to capture the Pirate Truelight Seeker. I do not have enough money to buy a ship compatible with the boarding pods. So I thought I would just buy a scaboard and get some marines. This I have done no problem but I cannot seem to make the marines board the Truelight Seeker. I cannot find any commands what-so-ever to do with marine boarding.
I have heard of other people just ejecting and capturing the ship, but for me that is not an option because the ship is allways doing around 60m/s.
I have also tried to send them over as astronaughts like it says in the manual, but they dont have any commands available when they are in space (or in my ship for that matter).
Im sure this is just me being silly and missing something obveous, so if anybody can help me then I would be very grateful.

If you're flying a ship that can deploy marines (TP or M6, in other words) and it has marines aboard then the Piracy menu should appear regardless of what software you have installed. Note that some people have said you don't actually need to capture the Truelight Seeker in this way...apparently it's possible to claim it as usual despite the fact it still has a pilot and is still flying, unless they fixed that in 1.4.

Hi all again.
Thanks for your help, but unfortunatly I still cant find any piracy menu's. I am in a TP (scabard) with marines on board but........ still no joy.
Can anyone tell me exactly where to find this menu because I cannot see it at all. At least then I will know if its where its supposed to be or not.
Thanks!

Easy way to capture the ship if you dont have marines, as the ship is blue just eject from your own ship fly close to the ship and just claim the ship that was it is so much more less hassle then trying to use marines. It worked in 1.3 I just hope it still works in 1.4

Right, Thanks again guys but I cant find the piracy command.
1 = Navigation, 2 = Combat, 3 = Trade, 4 = Special, 5 = None, 6 = Broadcast. So Once again I am stuck with yet another god dam bug! In 1.3 you could capture the Truelight by just ejecting and capping I am told, trouble is my build had a bug that made it impossible to get to that point. 1.4 fixed this problem but on the very next stage of the mission I find out that 1.4 has no option for piracy, and just to make things worse they make the seeker travel at 60m/s so no chance of claiming! They make the seeker invunerable so you cant slow it down, and there is no option to claim the ship whilst being in another ship (even at touching distance)! GRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its So frustrating EGOSOFT!
Ive already put this game away for a month because I couldnt play it anymore and now it looks like I might have to do it again, but this time it might be for good because I know you wont work out another fix for at least 2 months! Please Please Please Test your software in the future because this is getting silly! If it wasnt for the fact that X3TC is such a epic game then I might have abandoned egosoft for good by now!
Thanks for all your help X3TC Fans!
Please see if there is some other way for me to continue!

Number 1 when you get the Grand Exchange the Seeker should be blue - leave it alone! You don't want to turn it hostile.
2. Using Hit and run tactics, pick off the pirates surrounding it one at a time. DO n't dogfight around the Seeker, just pick a target from 15km out, bolt in, blast it and keep going out the far side. Normally 1 of the M6s will follow you, so take it down at your leisure - I'd recommend flying something quick (150m/s +) here -personally I used a Skiron with 8xCIG in the front and 6xPRGs for missile defence.
3. When sector is clear of pirates, Get close to the Seeker,, eject, and claim as normal. No marine issues and 100% guaranteed to work. YMMV

Mr Laurie, Thanks for your post but as I posted earlier I cannot get close to the seeker and eject because it is moving at 60m/s. I heard you can capture ships without ejecting too since 1.3 I think but there is no menu for me to do this either.mr_laurie wrote:Number 1 when you get the Grand Exchange the Seeker should be blue - leave it alone! Aj, With the greatest of respect, I did read your spoiler and double checked to see if it was possible in my game. But, As i posted previously........ There is no option to capture the ship AT ALL!AjRyder wrote:If you had read any of the spoiler I had put up you dont even need to board the ship!!!! It is so easy.
I cannot cap the ship in the normal manner ie target it and claim. I cannot cap the ship by ejecting either because it is allways at around 60m/s. I cannot cap the ship using marines because there is no piracy menus.
Guys I cannot stress this enough! The Pirate Truelight Seeker is traveling at 60m/s with no pilot. So If it is so easy to Capture the ship, Please give me a step by step guide because its not the same in my game!

Thanks for reply, Tried what u said and got within 20m of the truelight seeker (was actually hitting it lol) but again no menu to claim.supakillaii wrote:I can keep up with a around 100m/s transporter in a space suit to fix it, just strafe.
When you go to the target menu, all I get is Info & Follow. No option to capture.
I guess this game really is as broken as people are saying.
