I've been working on tihs mission for a little bit here, my save was terrible near a gate where I have to take on a hard, but actually more like 'freakin A' ...

So I finally got in close with an elite and took out the necessary centaur.. low and behold some spec of a drone flies in for the final kill...

Can we create some kind of formula for this, if necessary. I can't ... ah.. I dunno.. perhaps it is something that was overlooked, but seriously.. how 'bout it?!

If you absolutely must get the kills, try using missiles or ramming.

Ramming can be dangerous, but if the enemy ship's shields are down and you have full shields a fighter should be able to survive a ramming kill against a corvette.

Ramming a ship that's at 10% health (to insure you get the kill) is reasonably safe as long as you have any shielding at all.
Irrational factors are clearly at work.
