Activation

I bought X3 Terran conflict a few days ago played for a while than i noticed an update from my 1.21 to 1.3 so i downloaded it and ran it, that it asked me for an activation number so i go through to get it and it tells me my serial number is incorrect. I know this to be impossible because i purchased it through steam and I did not enter the number it did it automatically. I checked the number my self 8 times to be sure it is the number I have. It wont let me back into the game which is frustrating me to no end. Please help me with this soon thanks for the time.

You downloaded the patch from the egosoft website that says "Attention: This update is not compatible with the Steam-version of X3:TC! The Steam-client will automatically download the updated files."?

oops didnt see that so how do i undo it?

You should be able to fix your Steam version by simply telling the Steam client to repair the installation.

Where can I tell it to repair the program been searching through steam for that

I believe you right click the steam client and choose 'verify integrity'.

Right click the game in 'My games', propeties, local files, verify integrity of game cache. It will checksum all the files which are marked as protected, and redownload any that have been altered.
