Grand Exchange shipyard - no upgrades

When I buy ships at the Grand Exchange shipyard, I am not allowed any upgrades to those ships; is this normal or some sort of a bug? It's very annoying as you can't buy Trading software mk II to freighters you buy there.

Is the Equipment Dock still there? The upgrades are sourced from the ED, so if that's gone....

GE never had an EQ dock, still doesn't. Head a little ways north to Zyarth's Dominon and you'll find a Split shipyard with the same situation -- no EQ dock, no upgrades.

This is particularly painful in Legend's Home--it's the only place to buy OTAS ships, but because there's no equipment dock you have to fly them all the way to Light of Heart to get any upgrades!

Nope, no Equipment Dock. And not anywhere nearby either.

Should there normally be one? I'm just playing this one game so far.

I honestly can't recall whether there normally is one or not, although Painman says there isn't in his post above.

Doesn't really matter in relation to your question though - if there is no equipment dock there presently, then that is the reason you aren't getting the option to install upgrades.

But they do sell Jumpdrives at OTAS HQ, so as long as you bring a few E-Cells....

Without nav upgrade, you can't jump ships OOS.. Unless you do it yourself.

There's never been an equipment dock in Grand Exchange, not even in Reunion. There is one fairly close in some of the new, TC sectors. You just need to look around a bit.

Im getting nothing at argon shipyard in omicron lyrie.
Info shows all buyable, but trade or land and trade shows a blank screen

happened after adding 1.3 patch

Wouldn't it be too funny if the code would default to the next Equipment Dock present and wouldn't care if it was player owned ? Hmm something to try out lol.

Ah yes, thanks for the hint. Will be doing that from now on.

And while we're at it, why not fill the disco's up with the rest of the equipment you'll need as well

Oh wait... that would include triplex scanners, which I want on all my ships if possible. Should be easy enough to find a ship that carries M stuff though

Just switch on autojump and you can jump them without any software to the next EQ.

Hey, does anyone know whether buying a player-owned equipment dock, and placing it in Legends Home or GrandEx lets you equip ships brought from there better?

The Argon M5 just happens to cary M sized cargo and it's dirt cheap.

With the new freight transfer system in TC it's alot easier to do everything while OSS. I still remember the joy of ferrying in extensions to 5x Caimen SFs bought in Family Njy useing fleet support software in X3R. It worked but there was alot of digging through menus and message log spam to deal with.
