I cannot enjoy this game yet. It is WAY to buggy.
I just spent an hour trying to do a "claim ship and bring it back" mission. It kept on failing for some reason. I watched the timer carefully and the mission failed with 30 minutes left. Then i have the teladi breathing down my back in anger and I take a rep hit. So I just aborted the mission and only took the rep hit becuase I don't want half the fleet after me.
I don't know how many hours I have wasted trying to get into this game, but all to no avail...
I loved X3:R, although I started playing a little before the 2.0 patch came out, so I guess most bugs were gone.
I love the game's egosoft makes but at this moment I am frustrated.
Really trying to enjoy this game.

Yeah, we’ve all been there. The start can be really frustrating taking on those deliver, claim and retrieve stolen ship missions.
Advice is skip them and get into the Terran plot, loads of rewards on route.
Just a few ideas to get you going….

When you get given the 3x M5 fighters, strip a couple of guns for your sabre, sell the rest off. When you follow the pirate back to base, go whack the Xenon ships instead, you’ll get a few bailing (low morale), sell them for 500K + each plus any equipment onboard. The mission repeats so don’t worry.

Yes, it really feels like I am playing a beta. And I've beta tested quite a few in my time. Thankfully there are a lot of good people that make good scripts to make it more enjoyable. I guess when this game hits v2.5 it will be ok too
In a year or so....
It has great potential, just iron out all the critical bugs.

Yea, and add a real plot that last longer than a few hours (freelancer or Privateer style would be acceptable).

*Don't* blame someone else if you yourself can be blamed for (at least part of) it:AjaxDude wrote:I just wish Egosoft would learn to release games in a finished state.
We keep buying them in alpha state...
fool me once (X3) shame on you
fool me twice (X3TC) shame on me.
That's really it.... EGOSOFT (and others) would simply not do this, if they know we wouldn't buy it in that state. period.

I'm starting to get a case of deja vu. If you want to help the OP with their problems, please do. If you want to discuss the release state of the game, please do it in the existing thread: but read the specific warning in that thread before posting.

I'm thinking of starting a new game. The split hate me for some reason (but what else is new) and I can't think of anything I did to get them mad.
I did an assassination mission where I had to kill a "blue" ship. Maybe that was in split territory. But after I killed the dude (took about 20 reloads becasue it was an M6 and an escort and I was trying to kill them in my sabre) I comm'd all the split ships in the sector and said "Sorry, weapons fire was a mistake" and they thought I was serious
