Ship Commands Disabled On Stations...

Post by Jonson27 »

Hi, thanks for clicking on one of my forum topics!! Now for me to explain...

These are the ship main menu sections available to scripters:
Navigation
Combat
Trade
Custom
Special
Piracy
General

You can attach all sorts of script commands to them. It's fun. There's a big problem, though. They all get disabled when you dock at a station.

Is there a solution? Anyone? I can think of a bazillion commands to put in one or more of those sections, but neither is affected by whether you're docked or not.

Anyone know why they did this? Why is this all-inclusive? Why didn't they make it so that you could attach a script to them, and the script itself would determine whether the menu item is disabled or not. They could have disabled all autopilot flight-based functions instead of doing this - when you're docked. Or they could have given autopilots the ability to exit the station before commencing to execute the command fully. Or they could have given us more menu sections for non-flight commands.

There's only ONE menu item section/type that works when you're docked:
Ship

Ironic that they'd name it Ship!!!

(has x3 resolved any of this nonsense)
Hello there!! (Jumping up and down)
