Big loading times?

as my titles says i'm having loading times of about 2-5mins i was having the same problem with X3 reunion i didnt give it much thought then but now i do cause it kinda humpers my game my sys meets the requiremnents so whats wrong?

The game is loading and initialising an entire universe containing thousands of objects. A couple of minutes is not at all unusual. You could post the information requested in the very first thread in this forum so that people would have some chance of giving you relevant information, but I suspect that it's just how long it takes.

Yeah, a couple of minutes is normal. More than 10 mintues would be a problem, as some posts I've seen in the past

Mine just take about 30 secs max.

Are you short on memory? Id recommend 2gb+ 3gb even better.

I have 4 gigs and my saved games always over 1 minute to load

Loading times are more influenced by the speed of your HDD then the amount of ram. Of course that's assuming you do have enough ram to load the game in
The loading of my game takes about one or two minutes. between sectors it can vary, most of the Terran ones load within 10 seconds, most of the others take 15 to 20 I think. I never really clocked it though so I can't really say how accurate my estimates are, but I can tell that Terran sectors generally load faster then the others.

I would say it is influence by both, HDD speed and RAM. If yor RAM is not enough to fit all game plus whatever you already have running, it will start paging down to the disk.

I also have the game and the system disk/swap in different disks.. maybe that helps a bit too?
