During some escort missions pirates repeatedly spawn who do not attack but stay blue and go into idle - Over 100 spawned (centaurs mainly) in Akeela's beacon and then continued in legends home until the mission was complete - The problem is that this is now weighing performance down badly as they stay there forever - I have them in several other sectors and it is now markedly dropping performance- I'm patched and fixed to 1.21 - I know I could manually kill these ships (they turn hostile and fight back though) but it would take many many pointless hours.

Does anyone have any suggestions??

Did I post this in the wrong place.... I think I probably did... If so can it be moved?? :)

Yeah, it's a known bug, they appear also in the sectors around Argon Prime if you do the Terracorp and Plutarc missions.

I use them as boarding practice, it's very easy cause they turn red at the moment the shields are almost gone and then you can launch the boarding command.

But you're right, there are too many...
