Kha'ak have the ultimate weapon: lag?

Why is it that when I'm about to engage a swarm of Kha'ak ships, my frames per second becomes seconds per frame? It doesn't do that with any other race.

It's their lasers I think, or the sound they make. Whatever game ES decide to make next I pray they don't use the current engine.
