A little question about installing X3:TC

First off the situation,

I've just had to format my C drive and reinstall windows. My game files are on another drive and my saves are in a dedicated My Documents drive.

I had this situation with X3:R. When I came to reinstall X3:R the installer recognised that the game files were there and just updated the system registry, something for which I am very greatfull. So my question is will X3:TC do the same?

I'm not quite sure exactly what you mean. If the game is already installed on another drive then you don't need to reinstall the game anyway. Just adjust the shortcut (or create a new one if you don't have one already) pointing to wherever the game files are. It will find the savegames as long as you've correctly told Windows where the My Documents folder should be.

Yes the game runs fine BUT I've just completed the Terran plot but it has not unlocked the second terran start, USC Commander I think its called. Having just checked my registry I can see an Egosoft entry. So now I'm confused as hell.

I see no mention of an installation folder, could the reg entry be missing something? When I insert the game disk the launcher has no Play option just an Install option

Could it be that I would have to start a new game and meet the requirements to be able to unlock alternate starts? I know how to alter the registry entry to unlock the game starts, but I wish to earn those unlocks not cheat them in.
