Terran Mission - The Lost Colony - Spoilers

Post by Capt_CHAOS »

So I fly in with my Cutlass and jump with the group to the Aldrin Sector and after defeating the enemy ships that appear, we are able to start toward the CPU ship and they say that they are giving me command of a boarding ship, yet I do not see anything. No boarding ship is given to me at that point. The mission says, "Protect: Boarding Ships", and the guidance points to the Terran Tyr ship.

After wearing down the CPU ship and realizing that no one is trying to board the ship, I have one of my boarding vessels jump to the sector and attempt to board, yet after a while they say they are almost through the hull and then they abandon the ship... :?

They are trained to 4 star rating... What am I missing?

Badly designed mission. It seems that, sometimes, the boarding craft don't make it into Aldrin, and since you cannot capture #deca yourself, you are stuck. Try loading the game from before you entered Aldrin and hope the Scabbard's make it through this time.

You can always jump in the Scabbard you got on the previous mission (from capturing the Vidar)

If you wait long enough the CPU ship should go blue on it's own. Only marines I've ever seen on that mission have been launched by me and I've yet to get through the hull of that monster, yet it gets captured anyway.

I have actually left the game running while I stepped away for dinner and after a couple hours I have returned to find the CPU ship is still red and no one is attempting to capture it...

One time I left it on for a while and brought in my boarding vessel and sent in my marines and they made it to deck 2 but the system says they got wiped out, yet I can pick them up in space and do it again with the same results. I will try locating the scabbards and jumping with them...

I tried to locate any Scabbards in the Moon Sector and I cannot see any. When I jumped into the Aldrin Sector I searched around again and still no sign of any boarding ships. Lame.... :(

So if they do not provide a boarding vessel and they refuse to let my 4 star trained marines participate, then I guess I am stuck... NICE BUG!

Who says you can't capture the #deca? I managed to capture it with my marines. It went green, and then blue.

What ship did you use to capture the deca? Did you use boarding pods?
