gate problem in X3TC v1.2.1

i have just installed 1.0.1 to 1.2.1 patch and everything works flawlessly, everything except one, REALLY NOTICABLE AND ANNOYING bug. for some reason i cannot fly through any jumpgates, terran or otherwise unless i use the autopilot, it just sails straight through the gate and does nothing! :evil: i never EVER used the autopilot to fly through gates and i hope i wont have to for long.

scripts installed

cycrows cheats v 1.3
marine repair commands (newest version)

if anyone can tell me how to hack the gate changes or fix it that would be great

Are you trying to SETA through the jump gates? There is a known issue where by if you use SETA (Or a VERY fast ship) and the game is running a little slow you will go through the gate.

performance is not an issue, i can have relatively large battles in earth and crowded sectors without taking a massive lag hit (large battles between over 5 destroyers in a crowded sector give me about 30-40fps)
i have tried with, without seta, fast and slow. however on further investigation i have noticed that the gates have no collision mesh, they react to weapon fire but you can fly straight through the superstructure.

if you're using the steam version, verify the integrity of the game files as a first resort.

If not, or if that doesn't work, try with a vanilla game (ie remove all scripts and addons)

If that doesn't work, reinstall :)

using the disk version, without the update files (4 and 5 .cat and .dat) it works fine, so its gonna be in them somewhere. i think i might go and decompile em and see if there are any changes to the gates, and if there are, delete them

what cheats are you using? i haven't looked at the scripts yet but if it disables collision detection for your ship then your ship can't collide with the jump event effect, meaning it has no idea you're trying to use the gate. this would also result in you being able to fly through the gate superstructure

...that cheaters are far less likely to crash into stations when collisions are turned off? (and far more likely to sail through a gate and look like a prat as well) :lol:

You can in vanilla - just select external view of the hub and zoom out :p.

I love how the model is very complex and complete, even tho its very hard to look at.

The pipes in the inner layers for example, are really detailed. I love the onion-style of the outher hull, and how it drains energy directly from the sun nearby :)
