Seriously, 950Mb on disc for the CREDITS?? Is it safe to rename the extensions on all movies not integral to gameplay to prevent play in the game?

you certainly can with the in-game billboard videos, credits may or may not fail safely as well

The credits video won't play in-game anyway, so you won't gain anything by renaming it or changing the extension.
