Where are Steam version save games?

I recently installed a new HDD, and I want to transfer my entire steam collection from one HDD to the other... can I simply cut and paste my steam folder to the new HHD, or do I need to paste my save games, uninstall steam, and redownload everything after?

game saves are under your docs and settings folder in a folder called egosoft, in all versions

They are in the same place as the save games for the non-Steam version, namely the Documents\Egosoft\X3TC\save folder. The files are named Xnn.SAV.

What you do for the none-Save part of this is cut the common folder out and put it in a holding location (say desktop). then uninstall steam. reinstall it in the other disk, then tell Steam to install all the games you want. They need to be actually downloading.

then pause all those downloads, paste the old common folder in over the new common folder, and tell Steam to "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" for every game.

I have used the same steam install on different disks, different windows installs, different computers and it always just worked without having to reinstall...
